Promoting the Music, Dance, and Culture of Ireland

Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann (pronounced kole-tuss kelt-ori erin) of Vancouver WA is a branch chapter of an international organization which promotes the traditional music, dance and language of Ireland. The organization is often called CCE or Comhaltas.

Comhaltas was founded in 1951 in Dublin, Ireland, and has grown to over 400 branches worldwide. There is no political or religious agenda. Comhaltas is open to anyone interested in traditional Irish culture. There are several Comhaltas branch chapters on the east coast of the USA, a branch chapter in San Francisco and Los Angeles, California  and here in  Vancouver, Washington (WA). We include the Portland Oregon (OR) metropolitan area as we share a common border. For further information on Comhaltas see Links section.

The Columbia branch chapter of CCE was started in 1997 and serves the metro area of Vancouver WA and Portland OR on either side of the Columbia River. The  chapter has established regular ceilis with Seisuns in the community.
